About Pet Histories

Pet Histories is the trade name under which the personalized digital books about your dog's breed available on this website are offered. We operate in a fully digital format, with no physical location for customer service.

All communication with us takes place by email at [email protected].

Nature of the service

We sell personalized digital books that tell the origin, the history, the character and the care of your dog's breed, written in their name based on the information you share with us.

Each book is prepared individually when we receive your order. The content is an informative interpretation about the breed, put together from documentary sources and from the available canine knowledge.

Products and prices

Prices are shown in United States dollars (USD) and include the taxes applicable at any given time under the legislation of the buyer's country, where applicable.

Prices and availability may change at any time. The price that applies to your order is the one shown on the website when you complete the purchase.

References to launch price, introductory offer or other similar commercial expressions refer to the pricing policy in force at the time of your purchase. They constitute the price actually applicable and do not necessarily imply a comparison with a historical price previously in force for a given period.

Who can buy

To buy a book you must:

• Be at least 18 years old or the legal age of majority in your country of residence, whichever is higher.
• Have the legal capacity to enter into contracts under the law of your country.
• Provide truthful information about the dog the book is being prepared for.
• If you are buying the book as a gift, have the permission of the person you are giving it to in order to use their dog's information and photo.

Purchase process

The process is as follows:

• You tell us your dog's name and their gender.
• You tell us their breed or, if you do not know it, you upload a photo of them so we can identify it.
• You give us the email address where you want to receive the book.
• You pay through our payment gateway using the available methods. By clicking the payment button you expressly confirm that you have read and accept these terms, the privacy policy and the waiver of the right of withdrawal described in section 8.
• You receive the payment confirmation by email, with an express reminder of that consent and of the waiver.
• We prepare the book and send it to the email address you provided.

It is your responsibility to provide correct information and a valid email address that you have access to. We are not responsible for books sent to incorrect or invalid addresses that you provided to us.

The photo you upload

If you send us a photo of your dog, by uploading it you confirm to us that:

• You have the right to use it. It is yours, or you have the permission of whoever took it.
• If a recognizable person other than you appears in it, you have their permission to send it to us.
• You authorize us to use it solely to identify your dog's breed and prepare their book.

That authorization is limited and non-exclusive: the photo remains yours. We acquire no rights over it beyond what is strictly necessary to do the work you asked us for, and we do not publish it or use it in promotion without separate consent from you.

We reserve the right to reject images that do not show a dog, that are illegal, that infringe third-party rights or that turn out to be unusable for identification. In that case we will write to you to ask for another one.

Delivery of the book

Delivery is 100% digital: we send you the book by email when it is ready.

We prepare and deliver the book without undue delay and, in any case, within 30 calendar days from the conclusion of the contract, unless we agree another period with you. Each book is prepared individually, down to the last detail.

If you do not receive it, check your spam or promotions folder and, if it still does not show up, write to us at [email protected]. We will reply to you personally.

Waiver of the right of withdrawal

In accordance with the consumer protection rules applicable to personalized digital content (among others, article 103, point m, of Directive 2011/83/EU for residents of the European Union), the right of withdrawal does not apply to custom-made digital content whose performance begins with your prior express consent.

By clicking the payment button during the purchase process, you expressly declare that:

• You want us to start preparing your dog's book immediately, before the 14-day legal withdrawal period provided for in European regulations has ended.
• You acknowledge that, by doing so, you lose the right of withdrawal over that content once its preparation has begun.
• You understand that the book is a digital product made to measure for your dog, with their name and their breed, and that it is therefore neither reusable nor resalable.

You will receive express confirmation of this waiver in your order confirmation email.

This does not affect your rights in the event of a defect in the product or a technical error attributable to us, which are covered by our refund policy.

7-day review guarantee

Even though the right of withdrawal legally does not apply to your book, we want the experience to leave you satisfied. That is why we offer a 7-day review guarantee.

If within 7 days of receiving the book you find a specific error attributable to us (your dog's name misspelled, a chapter that does not correspond to the breed you told us, an incomplete section, a design flaw, an unreadable file), write to us at [email protected]. We will redo the book for you at no additional cost.

This guarantee covers review and correction of the book, not a refund. It is our way of committing to the quality of what we deliver, not a route to returns because of a change of mind or an unmet expectation.

Intellectual property

All the content of this website (texts, illustrations, design, code, images, the brand and the trade name Pet Histories) is the property of the service owner or of its licensors, and is protected by the applicable intellectual property legislation.

The book you receive after your purchase:

• Is granted to you under a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for individual use.
• You may not copy it, redistribute it, publish it, sell it, offer it on third-party platforms or create derivative works from it without our express written authorization.
• You may read it, save it, print it for personal use and share brief excerpts with your close circle, stating that you received it from Pet Histories.

The photo you upload is an obvious exception: it is yours and it stays yours. See section 6.

Acceptable use of the website

By using Pet Histories you agree not to:

• Impersonate another person or entity.
• Send false information, or images of third parties without their permission.
• Attempt to access restricted parts of the site or of our systems without authorization.
• Interfere with the normal operation of the website, the servers or the experience of other users.
• Use the site for unlawful or fraudulent purposes or in ways that infringe third-party rights.
• Carry out reverse engineering or mass or automated extraction of content without express authorization.

We reserve the right to suspend or cancel access, reject orders or take legal action in the event of a breach.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable legislation:

• Pet Histories is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising from the use of the site or from the content of the books.
• Our total liability is limited to the price actually paid for the book that is the subject of the claim.
• We are not responsible for decisions you make about your dog's health, feeding, exercise, training or handling based on the content of the book. As explained in section 2, the book is informative content about a breed and does not replace a veterinarian or any other qualified professional.
• We are not responsible for the use given to the breed identification outside the book. As explained in section 2, it is an expert estimate, not a genetic test or a pedigree certificate.

Nothing in these terms limits liabilities that, by law, cannot be excluded.

Cancellation and modification of orders

If you need to change the details of your order (correct your dog's name, change the photo or the delivery email), let us know at [email protected] as soon as possible. If the book is not yet prepared, we will make the change at no cost.

If the book has already been prepared and sent, we can redo it with the new details for a reasonable fee, depending on the case. The detail is in the refund policy.

Pet Histories reserves the right to cancel orders in justified cases (suspected fraud, manifestly incorrect information, technical impossibility), refunding the amount paid.

Applicable law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the law applicable according to the buyer's country of habitual residence, as regards the mandatory consumer protection rules that cannot be derogated from by contract.

Before starting any legal proceedings, we ask that we try to resolve the dispute directly by email at [email protected]. We usually find reasonable solutions without any need to escalate.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when our practices, our product offering or the applicable regulations change. The version in force will always be published on this page, with the date of last update at the top.
